Overdraft Protection/Link to Savings

Overdraft Protection links your eligible checking account with another Healthcare Financial Federal Credit Union account such as a savings account. Available funds are automatically transferred to cover overdrafts from your account, provided you have sufficient funds available in the linked account. There is no cost to enroll and it may be less expensive than our standard overdraft practices.

  • $500 minimum, $3,000 maximum amount.

Opting In and Courtesy Pay*. What you need to know.

When you have an overdraft as result of a debit card or ATM transaction, Healthcare Financial FCU may cover the shortfall and approve the transaction, charging you an overdraft fee. As an existing checking member, we need your permission or “opt in” before covering ATM and one-time debit transactions when the funds are not available.

Some financial institutions are simply denying these transactions when the funds are not in the member's/customer's account. At Healthcare Financial FCU, we are giving you the option to choose to have these transactions considered for payment.
